Obituary

David Alonzo Carter
David was born on March 16, 1936, in Brookfield, Nova Scotia, to Reverend Lee and Katherine (Urquhart) Carter.
David was a graduate of the Stony Brook Preparatory School in New York and later attended Wheaton College in Illinois.
David was an avid aviation enthusiast and pilot for more than 50 years.  One of his greatest joys was to pass the love of flying on to others through an introductory flight or to have someone else take them up.  When he was not working to provide for his family, he was out flying, boating or motor coaching.  In his later years, David loved to travel, attend fly-ins, and enjoy time with his dogs, children and grandchildren.
David's greatest accomplishment was that he placed his faith and salvation in the atoning sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for his and the world's sin.
David is survived by his second wife, Janette (Scruggs) Carter; two siblings, Miriam Reno and Jonathan Carter; children, Shawn Carter, Philip (Linda) Carter, Michael James (Kendra) Carter, Lee (Stacy) Carter, Jennifer (Steven) Rothstein; grandchildren, Mark and Travis Carter, Philip Benson and Christopher Carter, Caleb and Corban Carter, Benjamin and Gabrielle Rothstein.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra (Benson) Carter, two sisters, Rachel Patch and Mary Betzler and a grandson Kevin Carter.
