It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Dane "Dano" Rozek, 63, on June 16, 2026.

Dane was born on July 21, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the beloved son of the late Dan and Dorothy Rozek. Loving Brother of Dale (Denise) Rozek, Dawn (Jerry) Schmitt and Dani (Dave) Rozek. Cherished Uncle to Ryan, Lauren and Tyler Schmitt.

Dane graduated from Saint Patrick Catholic High School and later earned a degree from DeVry Institute of Technology. In 1993, he moved to San Jose, CA and spent 10+ years there working at Applied Materials, enjoying California living and spending time on his sailboat, Trinity. But his heart always belonged to Chitown and he just couldn't stay away from his beloved sports teams so he moved back to the Midwest in 2005.

A devoted and lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and BlackHawks, he'll be cheering them on from the best seat in the house with an Old Style in hand. Dane will forever be lovingly remembered as a wonderful brother, man and friend.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00-8:00pm at Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178.
