Christina "Beana"
M. Musil
Aug 17, 1988 — Mar 29, 2024
In Loving Memory of Deputy Christina M. Musil, of the Dekalb County Sheriff's Department.
August 17, 1988 - March 29, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Deputy Christina M. Musil on the early hours of Friday, March 29, 2024. Affectionately called "Beana," by all who knew and loved her, Beana was performing her duties on the shoulder of the highway when she was struck from behind by a semi truck. As a dedicated servant to her community, Christina was a respected deputy of the sheriff's department and a brave Army veteran, having served four years in the National Guard as military police. Her commitment to her country was further demonstrated through her courageous tour in Afghanistan from 2008-2009.
Born on August 17, 1988, Beana was a beacon of joy and resilience, she was a loving mother to her three beautiful children: Zoe Musil, 12 years old, Genevieve Musil 11 years old, Cillín Musil 5 years old, and a caring companion to their beloved puppy, Skiba. Beana's magnetic personality, laughter, and selfless spirit were a testament to the incredible woman she was. As a daughter to Philip and Diane Caporaso, a cherished sister to Bridgette and Anthony Caporaso, a beloved niece, cousin, and friend to so many, Beana's unique and silly personality touched everyone she met, making an indelible mark on their hearts. Beana had a fervent love for sports, rooting passionately for the Yankees and the Devils, although it was her children's sporting events where her true fandom could be witnessed. Her ability to light up a room with her humor, coupled with her unwavering commitment to the well-being of others, defined her as a truly remarkable individual.
Though we mourn the loss of Beana's physical presence, her soul's light and the echo of her laughter will continue to reside within us forever. Christina's legacy of kindness, bravery, love and humor will remain as a beacon of hope and strength for all who knew her.
A public visitation will be from 10:00 am -12:00 pm on Thursday April 4, 2024. A service to celebrate Christina's life and her legacy will be held at the Convocation Center of Northern Illinois University at 1:30 pm, following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund set up for her children's education and future needs, details of which can be found at https://gofund.me/1e6eb4c3 .
Christina's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her spirit will forever guide and inspire us. Let us come together to honor the memory of a remarkable woman, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend.
Rest in peace, our dearest Beana. Your legacy will live on in the lives of all you've touched.
