Obituary

Carole Elaine (Larson) Klotz

Born:   August 19, 1933

Died:  November 18, 2025

Carole Elaine Klotz, 92 of Genoa, Illinois passed away late Tuesday afternoon November 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving husband of 72 years, Glenn Raymond Klotz Jr and her 2 sons, Jeffrey Owen Klotz, Cherry Valley, Illinois and Jordan Ray Klotz, Genoa, Illinois.

She was born August 19, 1933 to Mervin and Blanche (Jackson) Larson of Sandwich, Illinois.

She was born at a time of great sacrifices and hard work to keep their family farm. The GREAT DEPRESSION.   Her father would rise early in the morning to do farm chores and then leave to ride the train into Chicago to go to work and then return home at the end of his work day to a loving wife and children who helped do farm chores.  They were a team.  This is why Carole loved the Cubs, her favorite team.

Carole learned many other important skills from her Mother, especially  being a GREAT COOK, the Gift of Hospitality, and caring for neighbors. Carole loved people and serving them a comforting meal when visiting.  There would always be a baked good, a yummy sandwich to be made and a hot bowl of soup to have on hand to serve unexpected guests.  When her sons, Jeff and Jordan were in High School and College, kids would come home with the boys for the weekend and there was a great time for all.  Food, Laughs, Games, music, Heart to Heart conversations, a place to sleep, and a great brunch breakfast in the morning!

For family gatherings, Carole knew just what to do to organize and have wonderful food for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Birthday Parties and more.  She will be greatly missed.

Growing up Carole loved school.  She was good in Math, Science, and loved to read.  She was always recommending a good book to read.   She wanted to go to college and be a teacher or librarian.  But something wonderful happened.  Her High school sweetheart asked her to marry him and they made a life together and raised 2 wonderful sons.  Carole loved being a mother, Grandmother, and became a Great-Grandmother this year.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin and Blanche Larson of Sandwich, IL, Brother, Dean Larson, Somonauk, IL and Sister, Patricia Rogers, Sandwich, IL.

Carole is survived by her husband, Glenn Klotz Jr, Sons, Jeffrey Klotz, Jordan Klotz, Grandchildren, Johanna Klotz, Heather (Klotz) Young, Jamin Klotz, Jennifer Klotz, Janice (Klotz) Hamm, Timothy Klotz, and Great-grandson Jomei Klotz.

A private family memorial service will be held at her grave in Sandwich, IL.
