Carol J. Leveque's Obituary
In loving memory of our precious mother, Carol J. LeVeque, age 80, who passed away with family by her side on Thursday, December 10th, 2020 at the Dekalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in Dekalb, IL. She was born October 17th, 1940 in Elgin, IL to Louie and Louise (Ham) LeVeque.
Carol was raised in the Dundee, IL area and lived on the Fin N' Feather Farm (now known as Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation) where her father worked in the wildlife game department. In 1958, she was voted Queen at the Town of Dundee Founders Day event. Her favorite places of residence were Bonita Springs and Estero, Florida.
Carol worked for several years in the banking industry, primarily as a mortgage loan officer where she truly loved helping her customers acquire their new homes. She also enjoyed working at the Elks Club in Sycamore, IL and Sorrento's Restaurant in Maple Park, IL where all the customers just loved her! Carol had a passion for interior design and in her later years took great pride in helping her son with decorating his model homes.
She was involved in several organizations including the local 4-H club where she kept her kids very involved with horse management and competition. While living in Florida, Carol donated her time to Seniors Helping Seniors in which she cared for others in need and cherished many new friendships. Carol was also an active member in the Red Hat Society and enjoyed organizing events as well as being a major component in helping women connect with purpose and fulfillment both within the society and in the surrounding community. She always strived to help others and gave her time selflessly in order to make those around her feel loved.
Carol was an avid golfer and truly enjoyed being out on the course, especially with friends or in her weekly leagues. She loved to cook, garden, sew and take walks on the beach looking for seashells with her grandkids. Carol had a soft spot for animals which resulted in her kids getting to grow up with numerous pets, one of her favorites being her beloved dog, Tasha.
Survivors include her three children Mark (DeAnn) F. Suchy, Robin (Lloyd) L. Reints, Dawn (Matthew) R. McCoy, their father John H. Suchy, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her sister Beverly Krich.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louie and Louise (Ham) LeVeque.
A celebration of her life will be at a later date. Carol will be greatly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of many. God has her now and we find comfort in knowing she is embraced in His eternal love. We love and miss you mom, thank you for all you did for us!
