Carol A. Gates' Obituary
Carol A. Gates, 69, of Sycamore died suddenly on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home.
She was born December 7, 1949 in Hillsboro, IL. to Dale and Ruth (Marsh) Carlock. She married William C. Gates on June 22, 1968.
Carol loved to help people and spend time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was blessed and loved dearly by her husband, who cherished her.
She enjoyed reading Danielle Steel books, crocheting, making crafts, baking cakes and watching TV.
Survivors include her husband, Bill "Butch" Gates; children, Sherry Maldonado Gates, Billy Gates (Sheri) and Tracie Veliz (Lito); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Linda Elliott (Keith); sister-in-law, Teresa Casey and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Casey; two nieces, Heather Porter and Brenda Carlock; and two nephews, Brock Smith and Dustin Smith.
Her visitation will be on Thursday, October 17th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore. A time to share memories will begin at 1:00 PM.
Burial will be at the Ohio Grove Cemetery in rural Sycamore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
