Beverly A.
Urban
May 17, 1949 — Nov 10, 2024
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Beverly A. Urban, 75, who died peacefully at her home in DeKalb, Illinois, on November 10, 2024.
Beverly was the beloved wife of Gregory S. Urban, sharing a lifetime of cherished memories and adventures. She married Greg on July 4, 1975, at St. Peter Church in Geneva, IL. She and Greg had a daughter, Jennifer L. Urban, Esq., who was born on April 1, 1978.
Beverly's life was a brilliant tapestry woven with love. She lived each day with gratitude, finding joy in life's simple pleasures and creating special moments wherever she went. Those who knew Beverly best will remember her love of most things sweet…especially blueberry muffins, pies, and Tootsie Pops!
She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, always quick to offer an honest opinion, a kind word, or a helping hand. She enjoyed coffee and conversation with the "Y" (YMCA) girls on Wednesday mornings, playing cards, watching NCIS or Blue Bloods, and being grandma to Jenn's two bulldogs. Her life centered around assisting others, from being a very active volunteer in the Catholic Church and DeKalb County Hospice, to serving as an usher at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. She was a Girl Scout leader, a real estate agent and broker, a teacher's assistant in the Batavia School District, and an administrative secretary for the State of Illinois. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 49 years, Greg, her daughter Jenn, grand puppies Luna and Zoie, brother Fred, sister Nancy, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Delores (Andrews) Zweifel.
Her Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14 from 9:00-11:00 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Maple Park. Private burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
