Beverly Ann Skelly

Beverly Ann Skelly, 82, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep surrounded by family.

Born on June 11, 1939 in Albany, WI to Walter and Florence (Beyer) Lowe, Beverly spent her childhood in Rockton, Illinois, graduating from Hononegah High School in 1957.

She lived in Sycamore most of her life since graduating high school.   Beverly spent over 40 years working at Duplex Products in Sycamore, starting in data entry and retiring as Director of Shareholder

Relations. While there she made many friends and shared adventures around the world with several of them.

In 1998 she married her true love in life, Paul Skelly at the Sycamore United Methodist Church where they both attended.  Paul encouraged her to retire early so they could escape  Illinois winters by vacationing in Mexico with Paul's sister Mary Faye (Cal) Cooper.  In addition to winters in Mexico, they explored the world from the east to west, visiting family and taking in as many national attractions and wonders as they could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Skelly, and brother Donald Lowe.

Bev is survived by her children Lisa Jensen of Sycamore, and Jim (Mary Ellen) Bangs of Santa Barbara; her sister Linda Lowe, sister-in-law Lois Lowe, and close cousin (often referred to as her sister) Glenda Whitman; step-children Dan (Lisa) Skelly of New York, Lynn (Roger) Workman of Decatur, Kathy (Jim) Dombek of Sycamore, and Kristy (Gene) Skelly-Sternes of Hinckley. She adored her grandchildren, Kathryn Tichawa, Emily (Brian) Yoakam, William Jensen, Hannah Bangs, Michael Bangs, Elizabeth (Greg) Schuh, Kristen (Jared) Heyn, Joe Dombek, Katie Workman, Amy Workman, Jessica (Chris) Mazgaj, Erich Skelly, Keith (Courtney) Skelly, Glenn Skelly and Megan Jensen. In addition, she was blessed with many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews all of whom she cherished.

We are grateful for the loving assistance provided by Anita O'Bryan(who became a dear friend and member of our family), Home Instead, and Transitions Hospice, as they helped care for Bev through the last chapter of her life.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14th 2022 at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178, with Rev. Dan Swinson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the Sycamore United Methodist Church Youth Ministry.
