Betty Jean L. Barnaby, age 96, of Sycamore, Illinois, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2026, at the DeKalb County Nursing Home.

Betty was born on October 2, 1929, in Sycamore, Illinois. On April 6, 1947, she married the love of her life, Paul Barnaby, at Calvary Baptist Church in Sycamore, Illinois.

Betty was a member of Crossview Church in DeKalb, Illinois, and her Christian faith was an important part of her life. She cherished time with her family and found joy in cross-stitching, flower gardening, and traveling. One of her greatest pleasures was spending the winter months at their condo in Boca Raton, Florida, where she enjoyed the warm weather and created many treasured memories.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Barnaby Sr.; her parents, LaVern and Rose Clawson; her brother, Floyd; her sisters, Florence and Dorothy; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Barnaby.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Jr. (KT), Dale, and Steve (Sandy); her grandchildren, Paul Hynds, Aaron, Jess, Angela (Noah), Steve Jr. (Shannon), Sarah, Jenny, and Ellen; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jacob, Trinity (Cameron), Hope, and Sharisse (Charlie). She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness.

Betty will be remembered for her loving heart and kind generosity. Her legacy of love and devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 17th, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, immediately followed by a funeral service at 5:30 at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., in Sycamore, Illinois.
