Obituary

Barbara A. Lindgren, 84 of Sycamore died Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Oak Crest Health Center surrounded by her family.

She was born November 30, 1939, in DeKalb, the daughter of Farrel and Vera (Wielert) Suddeth. She married Richard (Dick) Lindgren on November 22, 1958 in DeKalb.

She spent her childhood on farms in both Kirkland and later in DeKalb with her three cherished brothers. Her love of horses started young and continued into her adult life thanks to her dad's passion for them. Once married she worked alongside her husband on the farm in Sycamore where they raised their 3 daughters. Together they owned DicKen Grain for 25 years and Country Travel for 14 years. She ended her career as a vision screener at Hauser Ross.

During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling and going to shows and plays. Always up for a game of cards or a board game with family or friends. She later became an avid basketball fan and Cubs fan. She enjoyed spending her winter months in Florida with her shih tzu sidekick, Poppy.

Barb is a member of the 1957 graduating class of DeKalb High School and a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughters Brenda (Rick) Berg, Bridget Klein (Mark Johnson), and Bette Lindgren; 5 grandchildren Brenden, Colton, and Olivia Berg, Carson and Lindsay Klein; two brothers Bruce and Robert Suddeth and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, twin grandsons; her brother William Suddeth; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Gerald (Sally) Lindgren and Gary Lindgren and one nephew, Peter Lindgren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thakkar and the staff at Oak Crest Health Center for their kindness, compassion, and support during Barb's final days.
