Barbara Holman, 80 of Sycamore, IL passed away peacefully in her home on November 3, 2020.

Barbara was born on October 4, 1940 in DeKalb, IL to Albert & Tobithea "Panzie" Kirby.

Her proudest accomplishment was building her family home in 1974-78 with the assistance of her brother William "Willie" Kirby and several family members.  She was featured in The Chicago Sun Times Magazine Midwest on February 16, 1975 for her accomplishment.  She was determined to build a safe home for her family, which entailed many trips to 84 Lumber in Belvidere every pay period and winning several hammering competitions against the local carpenters.

She enjoyed competitive pigeon clay shooting at the Sycamore Sportsman Club and won numerous competitions including a turkey shoot.  Decorating cakes and homemade chocolates started out as a hobby then turned into a local business known as Barb's Cake & Candy Shop.

She was employed at several local companies including:  Cords Limited, Tuner Brass/Cooper and Northern Illinois University.  She worked on the assembly line for the 1980 Winter Olympic Torch produced by Tuner Brass/Cooper.

Barbara is survived by her two sisters:  Mary Sebastian of Pecatonica, IL and Linda (James) Blair of Sycamore, IL.  Four children:  Rose Humes of Sycamore, IL; Edward Holman of Hampshire, IL; Patti Conner, Sycamore, IL;  Anna (Craig) Standard of Monroe Center, IL.  Seven grandchildren:  Heath Humes, Albert (Rachel) Patton, Jaice Flusch, Michelle Caldemeyer, Michael Holman, Ethan (Amber) Standard & Devin Standard.  Five Great-Grandchildren:  Madilyn Patton, Teagan Patton, Alexis "Lexie" Caldemeyer, Griffin Standard and Baby Drayden arriving in December.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Albert & Panzie Kirby; her brothers; Orville Kirby and William "Willie" Kirby.

A private family service will be held with Pastor Jamie Page.
