Obituary

April Luxton, age 68, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in her hometown
of Sycamore, Illinois, with her husband at her side.

Born to Frank and Doris Higgins on April 9, 1952, April was raised in a loving home on Lincoln
Street with three sisters, Ellen, Jeanne, and Marlene, and brother, Mark. She attended St.
Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Sycamore Community High School in 1970. April
started a career at Ideal Industries where she met her future husband, Paul.

April and Paul were married in 1979. Five years later, they welcomed their first born child,
Crystal. Seventeen months later, their second child, Curtis, was born. At that time, April put her
career on hold and took on her proudest job title: mother. She was a loving mother that freely
gave out hugs and kisses and always told her children how much she loved them. She would
put housework aside to play, dance, run through the sprinkler or bake cookies with her kids. She
truly soaked in the sweet moments of raising little ones.

April and Paul had a loving marriage of 41 years. They were a devoted couple that loved
working together as a team. Whether they were playing volleyball, hosting friends or family
gatherings, or attending their children's school events, they could always be found together.
They raised their children in Sycamore and the family moved to Atlanta in 1999. As April and
Paul became empty nesters, they decided it was time to move back to their hometown of
Sycamore. They enjoyed golfing, bike rides, long walks, watching movies, holding hands, and
making each other laugh.

April enjoyed the outdoors and crafting. She always had a beautifully manicured flower garden
and loved growing her own vegetables. Her crafting included painting, making jewelry, knitting,
sewing and crocheting. April loved music and traveling, but what mattered most to April were
her relationships with friends, family, and the Lord. April's kindness, smile, laugh, sense of
humor, and care-free spirit will be what her friends and family remember most.

April is survived by her husband, Paul Luxton, daughter, Crystal (Luke) Blahnik, son, Curtis
(Michelle) Luxton, and grandson, Nelson Blahnik. She is also survived by her siblings; Ellen
(Hermon) Holder, Jeanne (Chuck) Maveus, Marlene (Bill) Gailbreth, Mark (Carol) Higgins, and
many other cousins, nieces, nephews and their respective families. April is preceded in death by
her parents; Frank and Doris Higgins.

April's family would like to send our sincerest gratitude to Tina Thompson and the staff at
Lincolnshire Place and Heartland Hospice. We thank you for your compassionate care,
kindness, individual attention and love that you have given to April.

Family and friends plan to gather for a celebration of life in the spring of 2021.

The family asks for any donations to go to April's loving caregivers in care of the Butala Funeral
Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
