Angela Sue Schmidt's Obituary
Angela Sue Schmidt, 48, of Genoa died Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at NW Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1971 in Elgin, IL to Sandra Lee Atherton and Russell George Schmidt.
Angela spent most of her life in Genoa and was a member of the GKHS Class of 1989, most recently attending her 30-year class reunion and enjoyed reuniting with classmates. Over the years, Angela was employed at AG Communications, Greenlee, Minute Man, GIC, Aldi Foods and CUSD 300.
She took great pride in being a mom to Tim, but especially enjoyed being a grandma to Isaac. Among her favorite things was her love of music; frequently attending rock concerts; watching
That 70's Show
with her dog and sidekick, Harley; and the color green. Angela's sense of humor and distinct laugh will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son and grandson, Timothy and Isaac Stolp; a half-sister, Ann (John) Seisser; two half-brothers, Michael (Lora) Nielsen and Richard (Kathy) Schmidt; nieces Melissa Gates, Sarah (Richard) Joos, and Allie Nielsen; nephews John (Reena) Seisser and Micah (Jessica) Nielsen; several great nieces and nephews; her lifelong best friend, Ann Westphaln and her dog, Harley.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; son Anthony; and several grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Angela's life will be celebrated with a gathering next Saturday, January 4, 2019 at the Genoa VFW, located at 311 S. Washington St. in Genoa from 2-5pm.
A "Memorial for Angela S. Schmidt" has been established in her memory for Tim and Isaac at Resource Bank in Genoa. You can also send memorials for her family to the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.
