Andrew A. "Big Fancy" DeMore, Sr. 58, of Genoa, IL died January 4, 2024 at NW Medicine- Kishwaukee Hospital.

He was born on February 20, 1965 in Elmhurst, IL to Anthony and Mary (Curtis) DeMore.  He married Laura Hickling on June 16, 1984.

Having learned the trade from his older brother (George), He was a life long auto body and paint technician. Since 2005 he owned and operated ABC Repair Center in Addison, IL. At various times having all his sons work along side him.

Despite battling lung cancer for the last year, he never lost his sense of humor, purpose or hard working mentality. It didn't matter what he was doing or dealing with, he found a way to be there for his family and friends. He had a great ability to make others smile, and his sense of humor will be missed. If you needed a smile, he had a joke or something silly to say or do. However, If you needed a kick, he'd set you straight.

He enjoyed attending and participating in car shows with his Nova. He was a member of the Chicago Gearheads car club, and had worked on several members cars. He was a member of the DeKalb USBC and bowled in a league Friday nights. He also had a love for riding his Harley's, ATV's and snowmobiling. When he wasn't on the move you could catch him playing with his dogs, lounging on the couch or building Lego.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Laura; his three sons - Andrew Jr., Nicholas and Zion, (grandson) Grayson, (brother) Ray, (sister) Linda, (nephews) Bob and Zach, (niece) Katy and great nephews Dylan and Beckett.

He was preceded in death by (Mother) Mary J. DeMore and (Brother) George Kowalski.

His Celebration of Life visitation will be on Saturday, January 27th from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL.
