Ancel Amos Young, 84, of Sycamore died September 21, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 19, 1941 in Summersville, MO to Leland and Geneva (Lee) Young.  He was married to Janet Gustafson for 34 years and later was married to Connie Houser for 24 years.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1963-1966.  Ancel was a self-employed contractor in the DeKalb County area for many years.  He was a member of the American Legion and the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction Scottish Rite.

Ancel loved spending time with his family and especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Terry Dobson and Brian (Christine) Young; 5 step children, Kevin Houser, Brandon and Robbie Easterbrook, Crystal Payne and Jamie Kolota; 6 grandchildren, Adam (Erica) Dobson, Alex (Aly) Dobson, Emily Young (Nathan Lawrence), Hanah (Cody) Wallace, Ancelia Young and Cooper Young; 6 great grandchildren, Sawyer, Zoe and Tessa Dobson, Gavin and Emmitt Lawrence and Casey Wallace; 2 sisters, Lois Jensen and Anna Lane; one brother, Larry Young and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his 2 wives; his daughter, Barbara Young and step-son, Ryan Easterbrook.

A graveside service is planned for a later date.  Burial will be at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, IL.
