Alice M. Mathey, 84, of Sycamore died January 31, 2025 at her home.
She was born on July 18, 1940 in Mountain View, MO to Howard and Hazel (Lee) Payne. She was married to Larry Weber, who died in Nov. of 2008. She later married Larry Mathey on February 14, 2014.
Alice was a graduate of the Genoa-Kingston High School, Class of 1958. She was employed at Automatic Electric in Genoa for over 34 years, retiring in 1993.
She had a love for crafts. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, making beautiful dolls for family and she especially loved to travel.
Alice was a very active member of the Kingston United Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary-Willard Aves Post 1010 in Kingston.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Mathey; 4 brothers, Albert (Twila) Payne, Lenny (Susan) Payne, Roger (Kaye) Payne and Steve Payne; several nieces and nephews; 4 step-sons, Don (Barb) Mathey, Dave (Becky) Mathey, Dan (Kerry) Mathey and Paul (Katy) Mathey; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her 2 brothers, Gary and Fred Payne.
Her Memorial Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 7th from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM at the Kingston United Methodist Church, 121 W. First St. in Kingston. A Service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jackie Wills officiating.
A luncheon will follow the service at the Church.
