Alexis Loreli Wachowski, 27, of Genoa died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home.

She was born on May 17, 1993 in Elk Grove Village to John and Janine (Witcher) Wachowski.

She was currently a store manager for Things Remembered, working in Lombard, Illinois. She always talked about how much she loved her job and she always had stories to tell about her days at work when she would come home. In the past, she was also a manager at Party City and Halloween City, as well as being a CNA for Heritage Woods. Alexis absolutely loved working with people, as interacting with people and being personable & sociable was a defining characteristic of hers.

Alexis loved spending her time listening to music. Her eclectic taste in music was showcased in her desire to go to concerts. Spending a lot of her free time going to enjoy live music with her friends. Her creativity overflowed while at home, and it manifested itself in the many different design projects in her room and around the house. Some of her favorite bands included Yellowcard, Blink 182, Angels & Airwaves, Rise Against, and Dance Gavin Dance.

Holidays meant a great deal to her. Whether it be a holiday like Easter & Christmas, or a holiday like Halloween or Thanksgiving, Alexis was always eager to start the decoration process a month in advance, excitedly bringing things home that she knew would breathe life into our home similar to the way that she did. On top of holidays, birthdays meant a great deal to her and she always tried to make sure people felt loved and appreciated for their birthdays. She also kept track of people's anniversaries and would always talk about what she wants to do for people for their anniversary.

On top of that, her other hobbies also included playing Video Games, from old games like Super Monkey Ball, Toe Jam & Earl and Tony Hawk, to newer games like Super Mario Odyssey and Luigi's Mansion. She loved playing board games or card games with her family and friends, and was especially good at games like Scrabble and Phase 10. She enjoyed trying out new things and got majorly into cooking recently. She loved trying out new scents with candles and burning wax, and all-in-all, she just loved talking to and being around her friends and family. Her friends and family brought her more happiness than words can describe, and meant the absolute world to her.

Alexis will be remembered for the many laughs she has brought to her family and friends. She will be remembered for the bonds she made and memories woven with the people she met and things they experienced over the course of her 27 years of life. Her laugh, her smile, her beaming beautiful eyes, and her pure heart and sweet soul will lay in our hearts and in our minds forever.

Survivors include her parents, John and Janine Wachowski; brother, Kyle Wachowski; uncle, Norbert Wachowski (Scott Erwin); aunt, Tanya (Ed) Slowik; second uncle, Arthur Wachowski, Sr.; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles "Spike" Witcher and Loreli Lynch (nee Persky); paternal grandparents, Norbert and Mary (nee Herbert) Wachowski, Sr.; and second aunt, Janet Wachowski (nee Placek).

Her visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 27th from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be enforced according to the Illinois Public Health guidelines.
